8/13/04: In case you haven't heard the news, we no longer have a lead singer. Brett decided to take a new path and we all wish him the best of luck. Unfortunately, this puts all shows on hold until we can figure out what we are going to do about vocals. If you are someone, or know someone, who might be interested in singing for us, drop us an email at contact@obeyoboe.com and we'll figure out a way to get a demo from you or something like that. Please wish us luck for the future.
8/1/04: We are so sorry to anyone who drove all the way to Huntington Beach to see us play. In case you didn't hear, the band didn't get to play because of some difficulties. We are truly sorry to anyone who wasted their time and gas.
7/20/04: Hey guys and girls. We are currently finishing up our CD in the studio. We should be done soon. It is coming along great! We can't wait to show everyone. The show at Chain Reaction was awesome! Thank you to everyone who came, it was a fun night. The other bands did great as well. In other news, we finally have another FREE show! Yes, I just said FREE! This show is a bit different though. It is an acoustic show. And it is all the way out in Huntington Beach. Hopefully you all can make the long drive out to see us. The show is being hosted by the Honda US Open of Surfing. There are always hundreds of thousands of people who come to this event, so it should be a huge opportunity for the band! We will be playing on the Transworld Magazine stage at 11am. Check out the tour page for some more info.
7/10/04: Don't forget that we are playing at the Chain Reaction in Anaheim next Tuesday night. The show starts at 7:30 and we are playing with some great bands so we hope you can all come! Contact us if you want to purchase a ticket.
6/26/04: We just had the most amazing show at the Knitting Factory this past Monday! A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made the long drive out to see us, and to all the new fans we have made. The crowd was amazing and everyone had a great time. Thanks again to everyone who was there for an amazing experience and of course to Jason from Increment for getting us the gig. We also have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that our show in Pasadena on July 7th has been canceled. We are sorry to anyone who was planning to go to this show. But the good news is that to replace this show, we will be playing at the Chain Reaction in Anaheim on July 13th! We will be pre-selling tickets again, so contact us if you want to go. We will be playing along with two other great bands, Xanimo and Broadcaster, so you should go check them out as well. We also may be heading into the studio sometime very soon. We will keep you updated on that. Also, new pics from the Knitting Factory have been posted. They look awesome, go check them out!
6/14/04: Did you miss the show at the Showcase last month? Well if you did, you can watch a video of Obey Oboe performing Six Man Army at the Showcase! Just click here to watch the movie.
6/12/04: We created a profile on MySpace.com. This site hosts a community where fans can join and post comments and interact with each other. You can also listen to our songs on our profile. So check it out and join the community!
6/9/04: A few of the band member profiles are finished, but a couple of them have been slacking, so maybe if I put the other ones up then they will fill them out!! I also posted some old group photos that never made it to the site. They are in the pics section. I may post some more pics later on. Enjoy!
5/31/04: The Showcase Showdown went pretty well, despite a few problems, such as forgetting DJ's guitar at home and Dan getting pulled over twice on the way to the show. We are still waiting to hear if we get to move on to the final round or not, but we will let you all know as soon as we find out. Wish us luck! Thanks to all who came to support us. It was a fun show even though we were the stage warmers of the night and didn't have the biggest crowd. Coming up on June 21st, we will be playing in Hollywood at the Knitting Factory! We want everyone and their moms, their brothers, their sisters, and their dogs to come so contact us if you want tickets.
5/21/04: Quick update: I posted some pics from the 2004 Ontario Battle of the Bands. Enjoy!
5/19/04: We would like to thank everyone who came to see us at the Sickpit tryouts in Claremont. It was a lot of fun! We will get a letter telling us if we got picked to play at Sickpit or not so wish us luck! The Showcase Showdown is coming up next weekend. Let us know if you want to go because we have tickets! Also, check out our profile at GarageBand.com!
5/10/04: Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at the battle of the bands! It was a lot of fun and we gave out a lot of free demos which we finished just in time for the show. Congrats to the winners: The Opponents, Xanimo, and Understated. Everyone please come to our show this Saturday in Claremont. There will be a lot of great bands playing and tickets are only $10, so let us know if you need a ticket. Hope to see you all there!
5/5/04: The Battle of the Bands is this Friday! We play at 9:20, but the event starts at 6:00, so come check out 11 great bands for the low price of just $2!
4/28/04: We are currently working on recording a new demo at 745 Studios (Sean's house). Hopefully it will be ready by the Battle of the Bands so we can pass them out for free. While you are here, check out our profile at Kut Throwt Productions. They have some other great bands on their site, so you should check them out as well.
4/22/04: We just keep on adding shows to the list. We got a couple shows booked for this summer already, and we are excited about them. We will be playing in Pasadena once again on July 7th, and we will be playing our first show in Hollywood at the Knitting Factory! We have pre-sale tickets to sell, so let us know if you want to go. It should be a great show. And hopefully, between these two shows and the show in Claremont, we can earn some money so we can go to a recording studio and create a quality demo for all of you to enjoy. So please help us out and come to our shows!
4/11/04: I added some pics from the Tiger show in Pasadena (I don't really know why it was called "The Tiger!" but it was) Yes, I know the pics are outdated but that is because they have been sitting on my desk for a month or two and I finally got to it. Enjoy!
4/3/04: I posted some pics from the OHS talent show, which was a lot of fun I might add. We didn't win but we did a good job. So did the other two bands that played: Stuck in Adolescence and Take What Has Fallen. Tomorrow is Sean's birthday. Give him a high five.
3/21/04: Well, last night at Cue and View, we got screwed. Pozer Industries put on the show and had all of their bands playing along with some local bands like us. The band before us (a Pozer band) played about 20 minutes into our set. So by the time we set up and started playing, they only let us play THREE songs, claiming that we took half an hour to set up (which we didn't). This is the last time we will be playing with the Pozer family. Send them hate mail if you wish.
3/16/04: As you can see, the website is being reconstructed. I got bored of the old one and it was kind of confusing to navigate anyways. I have been working on it for the past few weeks, and this is all I have gotten done, but it will do for now. So in the meantime, send any suggestions, comments, concerns for the new website to contact@obeyoboe.com. We have a bunch of new shows coming up! Just check the new gig section to the left to see them all. We have a few big shows, like the one in Claremont. This is a tryout to be in a HUGE show during the summer with a lot of famous punk bands, so we would love it if you could all come and support us!
3-5-04: Hey guys! Obey Oboe wants to thank the 40 people who came to see us in Pasadena. The show was great and a lot of fun. They even made some money out of it. The guys will be playing at Cue and View again on March 20th, so go check them out. Also, on April 3rd, they will finally be playing the Semi Final round at the Showcase Showdown! We will need a lot of support for this show, so if you want to go, contact someone in the band for a ticket! It is for all ages! Also, you can now listen to our songs on Pure Volume and the more you listen to our songs, the more exposure we get to all you internet geeks so please help us out!
2-7-04: For everyone who is under 18 and has been waiting for Obey Oboe to stop playing at those 18+ shows, we finally have a show for you! We will be playing in Pasadena at the Tiger on February 28th! More details will come later. We know that this show is far, so if you want a ride to the show, just let us know by sending an email contact@obeyoboe.com or talk to one of the band members. Reserve the Right will also be playing with us at the show on the 28th and also on the 20th, so you should definitely check them out as well.
1-24-04: Obey Oboe put on a great show last night! Thanks to everyone who came! They also played a last minute show at Friar Tucks on the night before which went pretty well. I posted some pics from the Showcase and Jerico's Mile, so go check those out. Also, we are thinking about changing our name sometime in the near future, but don't worry, we are not going anywhere.
1-6-04: Happy New Year everybody! Check us out on a new site Empire Bands. We also have a gig coming up this month so check out the gig page.

12-13-03: A couple shows next week. Check out the gigs page. They are both 18+ only. Hope you all can make it!
11-9-03: We have our first demo recorded! We are giving them out free, so if you want one, then come to one of our shows, or conact one of the band members for a free CD.
10-21-03: The guys put on an awesome show at Chaffey High School, along with Broadcaster and Xanimo. These are two great bands that you should definitely check out if you haven't already. 10-15-03: Good news! We got FIRST PLACE at the Showcase Showdown on Sunday! That means that we get to move on to the Semi-Finals, so we hope you all come to see us then. We don't know when that show will be yet, but we will definitely keep you updated. Thanks to everyone who came to see us at the Showcase. We put on an awesome show despite the fact that some of the band members weren't at full health.

You have to get tickets through us and they are $10. Sorry they are so expensive! Contact someone in the band if you want a ticket. We will be playing at 8:00 pm with Xanimo and Broadcaster.
10-5-03: We got another show! November 15th at the Upland Arena. It is gonna be like a battle of the bands type thing. We will be selling tickets, so let us know if you wanna go. We may be playing another show soon, but it is not yet for sure so we will let you know. This Wednesday we are playing at Jerico's Mile at 9pm, so come check us out! And next Sunday is the Showcase Showdown, so if you haven't gotten a ticket yet, buy one from us! Hope to see you all there!
10-2-03: New addition to the site: a mailing list. If you subscribe to the mailing list, you will get occasional email updates reminding you of upcoming shows and anything else involving the band. You can subscribe on the front page.
9-26-03: Two new songs are now on mp3.com! We have retired the old three songs so that you can hear a couple of our new songs: Let Me Breathe and Answers Lie. Click here to check them out!
9-10-03: We got another show! We will be playing at the Showcase Showdown on October 12th! The time has not been determined yet, it depends on how many tickets we sell. We need EVERYONE to come! If you want to come, contact anyone in the band because you need to buy tickets from us I believe. The tickets are $8. Sorry! There are some good prizes including recording time! So please come and support the band! Oh, and the show on October 8th is NOT at Cue and View, it is at Jericho's Mile in Upland. Ages 18-20 costs $5 and 21+ get in free. Hope to see you all there!
9-6-03: Obey Oboe has 2 shows coming up in October! Once on the 8th and again on the 24th at the Cue and View in Rancho Cucamonga. The shows will most likey be 18 and over only because there is an open bar, so we apologize that means you can't go. It will probably cost $5-$8. Check back later for more details and who we will be playing with. We hope to see everyone there!
8-7-03: Thanks to everyone who came to support Obey Oboe at the block party! The show went well. Obey Oboe have been working on some new songs and will be recording them soon.

Thanks to all who came to support us and to Stephanie and Chelsea (and of course more importantly, their parents) for letting us play at your parties! I put the pics up from both parties and check out Obey Oboe in Don Lugo's yearbook!
6-20-03: Obey Oboe played at Brett's sister's party yesterday. It went pretty well and they enjoyed a dip in the pool afterwards. Tomorrow they will be playing another party so wish them luck!
5-24-03: The show at Vernon went very well yesterday. Obey Oboe played in between a few other acts of entertainment. They played a lot of cover songs for the kids, and they were going crazy for autographs. There will be pics of the show coming soon!

5-10-03: The Battle of the Bands went great last night and we would like to thank everyone who came to support us! We won third place! This is very good considering that the 1st and 2nd place bands had played in the BotB the year before and considering that there was a feedback problem. The crowd was very energetic and they were singing along. We hope that everyone who saw us had a great time because we sure did. Fourth place were The Opponents, Understated took second place and first place was awarded to Springwood. We congratulate the winners and everyone else who performed because all the bands did very well. Check back soon for more upcoming gigs.
